Meet Taryn Newkirk
Taryn Newkirk had her first exposure to medicine in Colorado Springs while working in home health care for a child with multiple congenital neurological disorders. She quickly realized that her love of helping others would require medical training. This prompted her to advance her medical knowledge first surgically as a surgical technician and continuing on to receive her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. After graduating, she had the opportunity to work at a prestigious institution in New York City, Mount Sinai, where she worked as a hybrid Physician’s Assistant, covering all surgical specialties and eventually transitioning to vascular surgery. After working in multiple surgical specialties she decided to pursue her surgical passion, neurosurgery.
Taryn is dedicated to helping others and she strongly believes a collaborative approach results in the best outcome in patient care. She is honored to be able to assist patients during their most vulnerable times.
She is elated to be back home in Colorado working with Neurosurgery One. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, cooking, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
