Expert brain and spine care is available right here in Lone Tree. Neurosurgeon Lloyd Mobley III, MD, and his team, including advanced practice provider Nick Agvent, PA-C, treat numerous types of spine and neurological disorders, including:
- Arteriovenous malformations
- Back and neck pain
- Brain and spine injury
- Brain and spine tumors
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Compression fractures
- Headaches and migraines
- Stroke and transient ischemic attacks
Whether you meet with Dr. Mobley or his physician assistant Nick Agvent, your provider will take the time to explain your diagnosis, listen to your concerns, and answer all of your questions. At Neurosurgery One Lone Tree Yosemite, you will receive a thorough evaluation that includes: a physical exam, a discussion about your medical history, and an in-depth review of your current symptoms and how they’re affecting your quality of life. We’ll also work with you to establish treatment goals so we can create a plan that will work for you and your lifestyle.
Dr. Mobley has dedicated his career and practice to treating patients with the least invasive therapies possible. He has studied and become an expert in several types of minimally invasive spine procedures and is specially trained in two particular treatments not offered by other Lone Tree Yosemite spine surgeons.
- Intracept basivertebral nerve ablation. The basivertebral nerve is responsible for the pain associated with vertebral endplate nerve dysfunction, a form of lower back pain that doesn’t usually respond well to conservative treatment such as medication and physical therapy. During this minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Mobley uses radiofrequency energy to ablate, or destroy, the basivertebral nerve, which stops it from transmitting pain signals to the brain, providing relief.
- Multifidus-neurostimulation. This minimally invasive procedure treats lower back pain caused by a weakened lumbar multifidus muscle. With ReActiv8, Dr. Mobley places a small neurotransmitter under the skin and connects it to the nerves that control the multifidus. The patient uses a remote to stimulate the muscle twice a day, during which time the multifidus gains strength to better support the lumbar spine, resulting in less pain.
Other minimally invasive procedures Dr. Mobley offers at Neurosurgery One Lone Tree Yosemite, include:
- Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). During this procedure for the treatment of degenerative disc disease, Dr. Mobley accesses the cervical spine through a small incision in the front of the neck, which allows him to avoid disturbing the spinal cord and spinal nerves. He then removes the diseased disc and fuses the above and below vertebrae together to prevent friction and pain.
- Facetectomy. This spine procedure, which can often be preformed as minimally invasive procedure, is used to alleviate pain and numbness associated with facet joint syndrome, degenerative disc disease, and other spine conditions. During the procedure, Dr. Mobley creates a small incision to access the spine and then removes portions of the affected facet joint to relieve the pressure on the pinched spinal nerves.
- Kyphoplasty. This procedure, used to treat spinal compression fractures caused by osteoporosis or cancer, involves injecting a special type of cement into the vertebra to fortify the affected vertebra. This keeps the vertebra from further compression and also helps support surrounding vertebrae, thereby reducing pain.
Neurosurgery One Lone Tree Yosemite also offers the following services:
- Artificial disc replacement
- General neurosurgery
- Lumbar fusion
- Medication therapy

Our Lone Tree Yosemite Neurosurgeons and Providers
At Neurosurgery One Lone Tree Yosemite, we make it as easy and efficient as possible for patients to get the specialty brain and spine care they need, and fast. Lone Tree Yosemite neurosurgeon Dr. Mobley and physician assistant Nick Agvent work as a team to get patients in as soon as possible.
To expedite care, we schedule patients experiencing back or neck pain and other types of non-life-threatening conditions with our advanced practice provider, who will conduct your exam, listen to your concerns, and order any relevant lab tests and diagnostic imaging studies. He also may refer you for physical therapy or pain management, if appropriate. This allows you to get the care you need sooner, without having to wait to see a neurosurgeon. It is also required by some insurance plans.
Patients with potentially life-limiting or disabling conditions, such as a suspected brain or spine tumor, and those with more complex neurological disorders will be scheduled with Dr. Mobley, often the same day.
